Save the Events You Like in "My Events"

in Event Details, respond "Yes" to Are You Interested? and that event will be saved to your My Events page, kind of bookmarking it.

Use the Search Filters to find events appropriate for your child's age, close to you and at a time you specify, in the event categories you like.
